Catalog Undo — Terms of Service
Last updated: October 7, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (the Shopify merchant installing the app, "you") and WorkAlong ("we", "us"), for the use of the Catalog Undo Shopify app (the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm you can bind that business.
Draft note: these terms were drafted without a lawyer. Have them reviewed before relying on them.
1. The Service
Catalog Undo keeps a version history of your Shopify products and collections and lets you restore earlier versions. Features depend on your plan, as described in the app and on our Shopify App Store listing.
2. What the Service does and does not do
- It is not a complete store backup. It covers products, variants, collections, product media references and metafields on those objects. It does not back up or restore customers, orders, inventory quantities, themes, pages, blog posts, navigation, discounts, files, sales-channel publishing, or app data from other apps.
- History starts at install. Changes made before the first snapshot completes cannot be shown or restored.
- Capture timing. Free plans capture once per day. Paid plans capture changes within minutes of Shopify notifying us. Several edits to the same item close together may be recorded as one change. If Shopify does not notify us, the change is picked up at the next daily snapshot.
- Restores are requested by you. The Service never restores anything automatically. Each restore shows a preview and must be dry-run and confirmed by you. Steps that remove data (for example deleting variants or metafields that did not exist in the version you restore) only run if you separately confirm them.
- Recreated items get new IDs. Products and collections that were deleted and are recreated receive new Shopify IDs, start unpublished, and start with zero inventory. Links or integrations that rely on the old IDs will not follow them.
- Inventory and media. Inventory quantities are never restored; recreated products start with zero stock. On paid plans we keep copies of product image files so deleted products can be recreated with their images; images we have no copy of cannot be restored.
- Some fields are not restored automatically, such as variant order, media order, media alt text, and smart-collection conditions. The app lists these for you to fix manually.
3. Your responsibilities
- Review each preview and dry-run result before you run a restore. You are responsible for the changes you choose to apply to your store.
- Keep your own exports or backups for anything critical. The Service is a convenience and safety layer, not your only copy of your data.
- Use the Service in line with Shopify's terms and applicable law.
4. Fees and billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly by Shopify on your Shopify invoice at the flat prices shown in the app. Prices never depend on your order volume.
- Paid plans include a free trial as shown at the time you subscribe. Shopify handles proration when you change plans.
- You can cancel anytime by switching to the Free plan in the app or by uninstalling. Charges stop from that point under Shopify's billing rules. We do not offer refunds for partial months except where required by law or at our discretion.
- We will give at least 30 days' notice in the app before any price increase applies to your existing subscription.
5. Data
Our handling of data is described in the Privacy Policy. You keep all rights to your store data. You grant us the limited right to process it to provide the Service.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app so you can export your data.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT EVERY CHANGE WILL BE CAPTURED, THAT EVERY VERSION CAN BE RESTORED, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, SALES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR US$50 IF YOU USED ONLY THE FREE PLAN.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these terms or of law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or misuse the Service. Sections 7–12 survive termination.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of the State of California, unless the law of your country requires otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date. Material changes take effect 30 days after notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.
