Catalog Undo — Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Catalog Undo ("the app", "we", "us") is provided by WorkAlong ("we"). This policy explains what information the app collects when you install it on your Shopify store, how we use it, and your choices.
Questions: use our support form at https://workalong.app/support and choose "Catalog Undo".
Summary
- The app accesses your store's products, product variants, collections, product media references, metafields on those objects, and inventory quantities. Nothing else.
- The app does not request access to customers, orders, checkouts, fulfillments, or any customer personal information.
- We use the data only to provide the app: keeping a version history of your catalog and restoring it when you ask.
- We do not sell data, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
- When you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data 48 hours later, and we delete it.
Information we collect
When you install the app, Shopify grants it these permissions (Admin API access scopes): read_products, write_products, read_inventory. Using them, the app stores:
- Catalog data. Copies ("versions") of your products, variants, options, prices, SKUs, barcodes, weights, tags, descriptions, SEO fields, product categories, theme template names, media URLs and alt text, metafields on products and collections, collection settings and which products belong to which collections. A new version is saved when something changes.
- Inventory quantities. Stored alongside product versions for reference only. They are never restored or changed by the app.
- Product image copies (Starter and Pro). Copies of your products' image files, stored privately with Supabase so deleted products can be recreated with their images (Shopify deletes a product's image files when the product is deleted). They are deleted when they have not appeared in your catalog for your plan's history window, and all of them on shop redact.
- Change records. For each version, the list of fields that changed, their old and new values, and when Shopify recorded the change.
- Restore records. What you previewed and restored, when, the outcome of each step, and an activity log of actions taken in the app (for example "restore started", "plan changed").
- Store account information. Your store's myshopify.com address, the store contact email address (used only to send the mass-change alerts you turn on), your app plan, and settings you choose in the app.
- Session data. Access tokens issued by Shopify so the app can work with your store. They are stored in our database and never shared.
We do not collect information about your customers. Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks for customer data requests and customer erasure are acknowledged; because the app never receives customer data, there is nothing to return or erase.
How we use information
- To show your catalog's change history and differences between versions.
- To restore products, variants, collections and metafields when you request it, after a preview and dry run.
- To detect bulk changes and, if you turn alerts on, to email the store contact address.
- To provide support when you contact us, and to keep the service secure and working (error logs, rate-limit handling).
- To manage your subscription through Shopify's billing system. We never see or store your payment card details.
AI-assisted support
Support requests may be answered with the help of an AI assistant operated by us. To answer your question it may read your support message and your store's records in the app (change history, restore logs). It is never used to make changes to your store. You can ask for a human-reviewed reply at any time.
Where data is stored and who processes it
The app runs on infrastructure from these service providers ("subprocessors"):
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Fly.io, Inc. | Application hosting | United States (San Jose, California) |
| Supabase, Inc. | Database and file storage (catalog versions, logs, product image copies) | United States (Oregon) |
| Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) | Sending alert emails you turn on | United States |
| Anthropic, PBC | Drafting support replies | United States |
| Shopify | Authentication, billing | Per Shopify's policies |
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Database storage is encrypted at rest by the database provider. Access is limited to the operator and automated systems that run the app.
Retention and deletion
- Versions and change records are kept for your plan's history window (Free: 7 days, Starter: 30 days, Pro: 365 days). Older versions are deleted daily, except the single version needed to show each item's state at the start of the window.
- Product image copies (Starter and Pro) are deleted once the image has not appeared in your catalog for your plan's history window (Starter: 30 days, Pro: 365 days; Free plans take no copies).
- Restore records and the activity log are kept for up to 400 days.
- Uninstalling: the app stops collecting data immediately. Shopify sends us a "shop redact" request 48 hours after uninstall, and we then permanently delete all data we hold for your store, including all product image copies. Copies in database backups (our daily backups and any held by our database provider) are deleted within 14 days after that.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner through our support form at https://workalong.app/support. Include your store's myshopify.com address; we may confirm the request with the store contact email before deleting.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information. Most data the app holds is store catalog data rather than personal information; the store contact email is personal information. Use our support form at https://workalong.app/support to make a request. You can also export your catalog history from the app's Exports page on paid plans.
Children
The app is a business tool for Shopify merchants and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes we will notify you in the app.
